Director of FP&A

We are seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven strategic finance leader to head our FP&A function. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial direction of the company, combining operational rigor with strategic foresight. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader, a systems thinker, and a collaborative partner to executive leadership and business units.

This position is responsible for elevating the financial planning and analysis capabilities of the organization through enhanced forecasting, KPI-driven insights, and scalable processes. Beyond core FP&A functions, the role plays a critical part in enterprise initiatives, leading financial system implementations, standardizing reporting, and driving value creation through continuous process optimization.

Acting as both a strategic advisor and a tactical executor, this leader ensures that financial intelligence informs every key decision across the business. They will also foster a culture of service, data integrity, and performance within the finance team while championing cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the FP&A function, driving long-term financial planning, forecasting accuracy, and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of 3 finance professionals, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning aligned with company growth goals.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making through ownership of enterprise-wide KPI frameworks and the development of executive dashboards using platforms like Metabase and Tableau.
  • Lead the transformation of financial reporting processes by standardizing and automating outputs across departments, increasing agility and insight generation.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize financial models, workflows, and analytical tools to drive business efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Act as a strategic partner to business unit leaders, ensuring financial accountability, monitoring key initiatives, and enabling informed budgetary decisions.
  • Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, focused on enhancing revenue and EBITDA growth and long-term profitability.
  • Own the financial components of quarterly board reporting, delivering insights that shape strategic direction.
  • Deliver high-impact, ad-hoc strategic analyses to support key business initiatives, investment decisions, and operational pivots.
  • Set the tone for a service-oriented FP&A function that supports internal stakeholders with clarity, responsiveness, and strategic insight. Monitor team performance against service benchmarks and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, corporate finance, or strategic finance roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning processes in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Track record of building and mentoring high-performing finance teams.
  • Strong background in financial systems implementation and process automation (experience with Vena, Tableau, Metabase, or similar tools highly preferred).
  • Experience with M&A integration and post-acquisition reporting standardization is a significant plus.
  • Experience within the SaaS space is beneficial.

  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills; able to distill complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies through automation, standardization, and system optimization.
  • Strong executive communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • High proficiency in Excel, financial planning tools, and data visualization platforms.
  • Strategic mindset with an operational edge; capable of working at both a high level and in the details.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in an evolving business landscape.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA and/or CPA/CMA strongly preferred.

Salary

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000 per year plus a manager bonus plan. Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.
