As we scale, we're seeking an Application Support Developer to play a critical role in maintaining and improving our platform’s quality and performance.
This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in troubleshooting, refining application stability, and gaining deep expertise in an established codebase. You’ll collaborate closely with customer support, product, and engineering teams to triage defects, enhance system reliability, and contribute to our overall development efforts.
This is a hybrid role (2-3 days in office) based out of our Austin, Texas office to foster close collaboration with the Time To Pet team.
Responsibilities
- Defect Triage & Resolution: Investigate, prioritize, and resolve issues escalated from the support team, ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Codebase Familiarization & Improvement: Learn the existing Laravel-based system, gradually taking on more complex maintenance and enhancement tasks.
- Pull Request Reviews: Review and provide feedback on code changes to maintain quality and consistency across the application.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Address performance bottlenecks, resolve technical debt, and assist in keeping dependencies up to date.
- System Monitoring & Logging: Assist in monitoring production systems, improving observability, and proactively identifying issues.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Help refine development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing efforts.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure efficient defect resolution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend technologies.
- Proficiency in Laravel (PHP) and MySQL for debugging and maintaining backend services.
- Experience with API debugging and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support UI-related bug fixes.
- Basic understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms for diagnosing infrastructure-related issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to investigate and resolve software defects efficiently.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in a SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with React Native for mobile support.
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog, LogRocket).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Previous experience in customer-facing applications or support roles

The salary for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.
