Product Marketing Manager (US Slick)

Department: Marketing
Location:

DaySmart supercharges experience-based businesses with innovative, industry-specific software services that power customer and revenue growth. With thousands of partners worldwide and dozens of industry awards, we provide best-in-class solutions that help our customers grow their businesses.

About Slick
Slick is the appointment and payment software that salon owners actually love. Born from Founders Factory and built in collaboration with L’Oréal, we’re changing how hair and beauty businesses manage bookings, payments, stock, and the admin that gets in the way of creativity.

We’re growing fast across the US and UK, and we’re at that exciting moment where product excellence meets market demand. This is where you come in.

Note: We're looking for candidates based in or able to work Eastern Time hours. This role partners closely with our UK team, and Eastern Time overlap is essential for effective collaboration.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an AI-enabled Product Marketing Manager to own the growth narrative for Slick in two thriving markets. You’ll sit in the Beauty BU and report directly to our Head of Marketing, working alongside a fast-paced, ambitious team that’s already redefining how salon owners think about tech.
The beauty and self-care market is heating up—new competitors, shifting customer expectations, and a huge untapped opportunity for the right platform. You’ll shape how Slick gets positioned against alternatives, build GTM narratives that resonate with salon owners and barbers, and help the product team understand what customers really care about.

What You’ll Own
You’ll be the voice of the market inside Slick and the voice of Slick in the market. That means:

  • Drive competitive positioning and messaging strategy across UK and US markets, tailoring go-to-market narratives for different segments (creative salon owners vs. business-minded, hair stylists vs. barbers, solos vs. large salons)
  • Own product launches, feature positioning, and customer education—from internal kickoff to market release
  • Own customer adoption from day one, then again with every major feature and product launch—making sure customers understand the value and know how to get the most out of what's new
  • Drive expansion revenue by helping our customer base discover and adopt new features and add-ons that solve deeper problems and unlock more value from Slick
  • Lead product-led growth strategy with the broader marketing team—a critical lever for scaling into the solo stylist and independent operator segment where PLG is our biggest advantage
  • Research the market constantly: what’s changing, where are the gaps, what are salon owners actually frustrated by, what are competitors doing/not doing
  • Collaborate with product and design on roadmap priorities—being the customer voice in the room
  • Build marketing assets and campaigns that drive awareness and conversions (landing pages, case studies, email campaigns, social, video)
  • Support the sales team with battlecards, ROI frameworks, and proof points that close deals
  • Drive expansion revenue by helping our customer base discover and adopt new features and add-ons that solve deeper problems and unlock more value from Slick
  • Own product video production for AI discoverability—question-shaped content (screen recordings, walkthroughs) built for AI answer engines. Low production, high search intent: "how to sell packages in your salon" beats "introducing packages"

About You
You’ve spent 3–5 years in product marketing (ideally at a B2B SaaS company). You understand the rhythm: researching customer problems, translating them into positioning, and making sure the whole company stays aligned.

We’re particularly excited if you’ve worked in:

  • Beauty or wellness tech
  • Appointments or scheduling software
  • Payments or fintech

Beyond that, what matters:

  • You can write. Messaging frameworks, positioning docs, case studies—they’re sharp and persuasive
  • You’re genuinely curious about customers. You’ll run interviews, dig into data, talk to salon owners, not just sit in Slack
  • You embrace ambiguity. You’re comfortable in a fast-moving environment where you’ll sometimes be inventing the playbook as you go
  • You’re collaborative. Product marketers bridge a lot of teams—you need to influence without authority, stay calm under pressure, and keep everyone rowing in the same direction
  • You're fluent with PMM tools. Analytics platforms (Mixpanel, etc.), customer comms tools (Intercom), data visualization tools (Tableau, Metabase)—you know how to pull signals from the noise and turn them into messaging that lands
  • You move fast with AI tooling. NotebookLM, Claude Cowork, etc.—you use these to research faster, synthesize smarter, and ship more. You don't need to be an expert day one, but you're genuinely excited about what they unlock.

Why You’ll Love This
You’ll work with a team that actually cares about making salon owners’ lives easier. No vanity metrics, no corporate BS—just product-market-fit progress and real revenue growth.

You’ll have room to move fast. Product marketing at Slick isn’t a gatekeeping function; it’s a growth lever. Your ideas will shape strategy, and you’ll see them live in the market.

The market is exciting, and there’s a genuine appetite for better software. You’ll be marketing into momentum, not creating it from scratch. Plus, we have a mature product and rich customer data—there are clear wins waiting for a sharp PMM to uncover.
